Elizabeth's La Romanella Big Family Dinner with Love


I had the pleasure of recently cooking a large family meal. I am not usually one for cooking the family meals, but I wanted to make something special and I wanted my family to know I made this specially for them. I was given the task of using the La Romanella products available at Smart & Final. Now if you are not familiar with La Romanella they carry a variety of pastas, sauces, frozen foods and much more. Here are just some of the products that I bought on my recent Smart & Final shopping trip.


Since I needed to make a family dinner and I usually make the same things I wanted this to be something special and a little different. I made a pasta meal but instead of just opening a jar of sauce I went one step further. I decided on making a La Romanella Family Dinner with the special ingredient called Love. First I started by boiling the Penne Rigate pasta.


Then I cooked the ground beef, but I also added some minced garlic, finely chopped mushrooms and onions.


Then I drained the pasta and poured in the jars of La Romanella Four Cheese sauce onto the Penne Rigate pasta. Let it heat up and then added the seasoned meat to the pasta.


While the pasta meal was what I call, melding together, I put the La Romanella Garlic Toast in the oven. This was so simple, the toast took less than ten minutes to bake. Once the toast was ready I served my pasta with as much shredded mozzarella cheese as each family member wanted and let them pick their slices of garlic toast. Our La Romanella big family dinner was a huge success! Here is how it turned out.



Elizabeth's La Romanella Big Family Dinner with Love  Recipe

2lbs. Ground Beef
½ cup finely chopped mushrooms
¼ cup finely chopped yellow onion
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced or very finely chopped
La Romanella Olive Oil
1½ bags of La Romanella Penne Rigate
2 jars of La Romanella Four Cheese Pasta Sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt & Pepper
Lots of Love

First start boiling a large pot of water. In a large pan cook the ground beef and drain. Set aside. Then in another pan heat up the La Romanella Olive Oil and saute the garlic, onions and mushrooms. Add the sauteed garlic, onions and mushrooms to the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. At this point you might have already added your pasta and let it boil. Drain the pasta, add the jars of La Romanella pasta sauce and heat up. Then combine the meat with the sauce. If you are going to add shredded mozzarella have it ready on the side. Dish out each pasta dish and make sure you add lots of love. Serve each dish with a side of your choice, but I suggest the La Romanella Garlic Toast! Enjoy!!
