  1. I love to cook and bake. I just won a new Cake Pan from a Good Cook giveaway. So excited! I am trying a new dessert recipe for Mother's Day, Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle.

  2. I can't cook. Honestly. Actually, I probably can, I just haven't done it enough yet (I'm still in college). However, I'm currently studying abroad in Spain, and I'm learning all sorts of new, simple recipes!

  3. Cooking with kids is a great way to teach math skills. Measuring, fractions. ratios among others.

  4. My two year old daughter and I were baking cookies just a few weeks ago. After the fun mess of leftover flour all over the counter, I planned on letting her play in it with her cars for a few minutes while I cleaned up the rest of the kitchen. As soon as I grabbed the tub of flour off the counter, it slipped right out of my hands and went everywhere! Floor, cabinets, fridge. Being the wonderful daughter that she is, tried to help clean up, resulting in baby flour foot and hand prints all over the living room. After rounds of sweeping, mopping, wiping, vacuuming, and a bath later, we finally did get the cookies iced.

  5. The first time I tried to cook mashed potatoes, my mother forgot to tell me to drain out the water after boiling them. Fortunately, she returned to the kitchen before all the potato was mashed into the water!

  7. Every year my church has an auction to raise funds. A couple of years ago I auctioned off something I called "Dessert of the Month". It went for about $40 the first year. One Saturday a month I would bring the couple that won a dessert, any dessert! I made things like Butterscotch Blondies, Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, Lemon Bars and etc.! The couple loved it, in fact at the next auction they bought the "Dessert of the Month" for a second year! :)

  8. I absolutely love to bake with my daughter. Problem is, she is a better baker than I am!! I have never been interested in cooking/baking until I started a family, and felt that maybe I should learn at least the basics. Well, now my daughter is 7, and she has been taking "lessons" from my Mom for the past 7 years! :) She comes home and teaches me how to bake and we have our own cooking show! We literally record it and everything. Maybe I should send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos, because it is truly hilarious watching a 7-year old school her Mom on how to bake. ha! :)

  9. A couple of years ago I found a recipe for Peanut Butter Frosting and my friend's Dad and his girlfriend loved it so much that they put it on their Wedding Cake. They thanked me for giving them the recipe!
