Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother Book Review
I don't normally review many books on here, it's not that I don't like books, I actually love to read many different genres of books. I just don't always have the time but I am trying to encourage my youngest daughter to read more, they learn by watching right?! So I started to read this wonderful book and then life happened and I had to take a little break. I was finally able to finish reading Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother. This was truly a wonderful book to read for any woman, divorced, single, mom, aunt, you get the point. I really wished this book had come out about 10 years ago while I was going through my divorce with my first husband. The author, Lorena Bathey, shares her life experiences as she is surprised with a divorce from her husband of 11 years. I can only imagine the hurt, and within a 3 year time period she also loses her mother and is shocked that her father remarries within a few months of her mom's death. Lorena shares her story about pain, anger, grief and then the feeling of closure and finally finding happiness.
Every once in a while a book comes along and makes you see life from a different perspective. I think Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother is one of those books, you will finish it and immediately want more. I highly suggest this book for any woman, whether you are going through divorce or know a friend that is. You can find Happy Beginnings on Amazon, Goodreads and her website LorenaBBooks.com.
